Almonte
General Hospital and Carleton Place & District Memorial Hospital created
the Mississippi River Health Alliance (MRHA) in 2016 to formalize their
commitment to work together to improve each patient and resident’s overall health
care experience through a strong, coordinated system of care. An integrated
Senior Team leads the two Hospitals, as well as Fairview Manor and Lanark
County Paramedic Service which are operating divisions of AGH. Over 600 caring
staff, physicians and midwives provide excellent primary, acute and long-term
care to citizens of Lanark County, West Ottawa and Renfrew County.
The Medical Affairs Coordinator plays
a pivotal role in providing comprehensive administrative and operational
support within the medical affairs portfolio. Reporting directly to the
President & CEO, this position offers administrative support to the Chiefs
of Staff at both Almonte General Hospital and Carleton Place and District
Memorial Hospital and will work closely with the Executive Assistant to the CEO for direction and support.
The Medical Affairs Coordinator is
responsible for the coordination of Medical Staff and Medical Trainee
credentialing, scheduling, and communication efforts, ensuring seamless
operations within the Medical Staff office. This role acts as a liaison between
Chiefs of Staff (COS’s), Medical Staff and Medical Trainees, hospital
administration, and external regulatory bodies, facilitating efficient and
organized processes.
Key Requirements
Education
- Diploma or degree in Business
Administration, Health Administration, or a related field preferred
Experience
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in
a healthcare administrative role, preferably within a hospital or medical
affairs setting.
- Experience with medical staff
credentialing is preferred.
- Familiarity with healthcare
regulations, privacy legislation (PHIPA), and medical staff governance.
- Understanding of Ontario’s
healthcare system and Medical Staff-related policies.
- Must possess planning, detail
oriented and organizational skills
- Proficient
in software applications including use of data bases, web-based tools,
Microsoft Teams (MS Office Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint) and other relevant
work-related technologies.

effective relationships with Medical Staff and MRHA Leadership.
- Ability to work in an on-site,
in-office environment.
- Proven ability to attend work on a
regular basis and work flexible hours/days (early morning/evening
meetings)
Salary Rate: $32.41/hour-
$37.91/hour
